Current Status of Security at Thermal and Hydroelectric Power Stations

Taiho Industrial conducts scheduled inspections of operators of thermal power stations. In these inspections, equipment is stopped and inspections are carried out at regular intervals, regardless of apparent states of operation and deterioration. However, the average age of security personnel is increasing, while hiring rates are declining. Under these conditions, maintaining and improving security while boosting productivity is a challenge.

Measures by the national government (METI)

In response to these issues, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is assessing issues related to introduction of smart security and revising regulations. Future power stations can be expected to run on an unmanned basis.

Proposals for Introduction of Smart Security at Power Stations

In view of these developments, Taiho Industrial aims to provide automated operation and AI patrol and monitoring of power stations, based on its accumulated expertise in robots for detection of dead chickens.
